GL Sciences’ Inertsil columns offer everything you need for your critical separations in all phases of drug development, and something less. Inertsil’s uniquely modified silicas and meticulously engineered column hardware allow our columns to operate at significantly lower back pressures than competitive columns, without sacrificing efficiency. Inertsil’s wide pH compatibility and excellent stability at elevated temperatures make it the ideal choice for your chromatography needs, whether you are using a traditional HPLC system or the latest rapid gradient LC/MS system with precise temperature control.

For example, examine the chromatograms shown at far right, with separation of 5 peptides in under 1 minute on both a "standard" HP1050 LC and a Waters UPLCTM.

In the chromatogram below, an Inertsil ODS-3, 3 µm, 50 x 2.1mm column was used to analyze 4 basic compounds (antidepressants), in under 0.5 minutes (click on image to enlarge).

Inertsil is available in a wide range of bonded phases, including ODS-3, ODS-Sprint for reduced retention of non-polar compounds, C8-3, Phenyl-3, ODS-EP containing an embedded polar group for increased retention of polar compounds, CN-3, HILIC, NH2, Diol, and a Polymerically bonded ODS-P phase with unique selectivity for planar compounds, uniquely designed for analysis of 16 priority PAHs in environmental samples but has also found to be useful for pharmaceutical analysis of planar compounds. Visit www.inertsil.com to peruse a huge selection of applications data to assist you in finding the best column for your next project. Ordering information for our most popular phases is found on the back cover of this brochure. The many tens of other configurations from capillary to prep are shown at inertsil.com.

The Inertsil 3-series represents a major advance in performance over the original Inertsil 2-Series. Inertsil 3-Series phases, including ODS-3, ODS-3V, ODS-SPRINT ODS-P, ODS-EP, C8-3, Ph-3, CN-3, NH2, Diol, and SIL-100Å, are based on a purer, higher surface area silica which is specially manufactured to provide maximum bonded phase coverage.  The result is a series of columns which provide excellent peak shapes using simple eluents while operating at low pressure.

Inertsil ODS-3, along with most of the other Inertsil 3-series phases, are available in 3, 5, and 8 micron particle sizes in column configurations ranging from capillary to 50mm ID preparative sizes.

GL Sciences has compiled a vast collection of chromatographic applications data on ODS-3 and their other phases which can assist you in method development.  These can be accessed under the "chromatograms" link on the main menu bar above, by searching for a particular compound using our "search" link above, or by clicking here.

By choosing Inertsil ODS-3, you can be assured  that you are using one of the most trusted, popular, and enduring HPLC columns in the history of HPLC.

Above - FAST Peptide Separation (Gly-Tyr, Val-Tyr-Val, angiotensin II, Leu enkephalin, Met enkephalin, in order of elution) chromatograms at velocities of 7 mm/s (5 mL/min) using an ordinary HPLC (top) with 4.6 x 50 mm column and 14 mm/s  (2 mL/min) using a UPLCTM with 2.1 x 50 mm column (bottom).  In both cases, a 5-35% ACN linear gradient with 0.2% HOAc buffer and InertsilTM ODS3 – 3 µm stationary phase were used.

The Tanaka test is one of several industry-wide standard tests which illustrate selectivity differences between bonded phases. The wide range of Inertsil Series-3 phases show vast selectivity differences in Tanaka test, allowing a wide array of compounds to be separated. (Click on image below for larger view)
