You don’t have to change very much about your standard,
run-of-the-mill gradient HPLC systems to achieve sub-minute separations with
peaks widths under 1.0 seconds. In fact, all
you really need is GL Sciences' UltraFast Kit, which consists of:
Left - FAST Peptide Separation
(Gly-Tyr, Val-Tyr-Val, angiotensin II, Leu enkephalin, Met enkephalin, in order of elution) chromatograms at velocities of 7 mm/s (5 mL/min) using an ordinary HPLC (top) with 4.6 x 50 mm column and 14 mm/s (2 mL/min) using a UPLCTM with 2.1 x 50 mm column (bottom). In both cases, a 5-35% ACN linear gradient with 0.2% HOAc buffer and InertsilTM ODS3 – 3 µm stationary phase were used. In other words, you don’t need to go out and spend a fortune on one of the new, ultra high-pressure systems that are currently in vogue to meet the increases in productivity demanded by today’s results oriented environment. And even if your budget allows you to upgrade to a new, ultra high pressure system, better control of the operational parameters using GL Sciences’ UltraFast™ Kit can result in further dramatic improvements in chromatography and speed. The fact is that the critical elements of a good chromatographic separation remain the stationary phase, the mobile phase, good mass transfer and minimized system dead volume. GL Sciences’ UltraFast Kit provides all these critical elements to success. For more information on what our products can do maximize productivity in your lab, contact GL Sciences by phone (310)265-4424 or email and request information on our UltraFast Kit. GL Sciences’ UltraFast Kit provides detailed information on making almost any HPLC ultra fast, and particular attention is given to the following LC systems: Waters Ultra Performance LC™, Waters Acquity™ UPLC™, Waters Alliance™ configured with one or multiple columns, and Agilent 1100™ series configured as an open-access system. Step-by-step instructions are included along with detailed photographs in each UltraFast Kit. Additionally, GL Sciences’ can assist in converting just about any other system to provide much faster and better results than ever before possible. Currently, three UltraFast Kit configurations are
"standard," and differ only in the hardware packages. These three
variations include "standard" hardware for use with 2.1 - 4.6mm id columns,
"microbore" hardware for use with 1.0 - 2.1mm columns, and "open access"
hardware for use with an open access system which will see a variety of
column types and configurations. |
